DERRYOUNCE
Derryounce Experience are hosting a fundraiser in the Dunamaise Theatre on Thursday September29. A movie filmed by George Mathews in the 1920’s capturing the time, including recordings made in Portarlington & Dublin will be shown. Just the 2nd time the film will be shown. This is a wonderful opportunity to go back 100 years whilst supporting a fantastic local amenity.
SOCIAL SERVICES BINGO
The senior citizens Bingo will resume on Wednesday September 14 at the Social Services Centre, Link Road. The usual time of 8.30pm to start, with tea & biscuits & chat after.
CONCERT BAND
Portarlington Concert Band are holding normal lessons Thursday from 3pm. Senior Rehearsals at 5pm. Contact Pat on 0838510428 for more information.

BURSARY AWARDS
Portarlington Credit Unionare delighted to announce that they are offering 5/€1,000 Maureen McEvoy Bursary Awards this year for 2022.
This bursary is open to first year students only. Students must have been awarded a place in 3rd level, full time education. To apply: https://portcu.ie/about/downloads. Pick up a form in the office. Phone the office and they can post out a form. Closing date is September 16, 2022.
PORT YOUTH CLUB
As the Club prepares to reopen to members, they are currently seeking volunteers. The members have grown in numbers and as such the club can only reopen with the support of volunteers to help to provide a service to the young people of the community to which they value very much. FURTHER EDUCATION
Portarlington Further Education and Training Centre still have limited places available on many of their PLC programmes in Business Management, Accountancy, Office Admim., Social Studies and Healthcare. SYMPATHY
Deepest Sympathy to the family of Kathleen Dunne (nee Dunne), Cullenagh, Portlaoise & formerly Bracklone St Portarlington who passed away on Saturday September 3. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Denis Joseph & her brother Paddy. She will be sadly missed by her son Alan, daughters Denise, Elizabeth & Serena, Sister Mary, brother Paddy, grandchildren, extended family, neighbours & friends. Funeral Mass took place on Monday Sept 5 at SS Peter & Paul’s Church Portlaoise, with burial after in SS Peter & Paul’s cemetery. May Kathleen’s gentle soul rest in Peace.

The season is getting underway and the Falcons are always looking for new players of all skill levels! No experience or knowledge required – we’d love to have you so come out and give it a try!! Training is on Wednesdays at 7.30pm in Portarlington RFC and Fridays at 7.30pm in CilDara RFC.

We normally do a 5km route around the village, but people are welcome to come along and do a longer or shorter route, and take it at their own pace.
