PORT YOUTH CLUB
As the Club prepares to reopen to members, they are currently seeking volunteers. The members have grown in numbers and as such the club can only reopen with the support of volunteers to help to provide a service to the young people of the community to which they value very much. BURSARY AWARDS
Portarlington Credit Unionare delighted to announce that they are offering 5/ €1,000 Maureen McEvoy Bursary Awards this year for 2022.
This bursary is open to first year students only. Students must have been awarded a place in 3rd level, full time education. To apply: https://portcu.ie/about/downloads. Pick up a form in the office. Phone the office and they can post out a form. Closing date is September 16, 2022.

DERRYOUNCE EXPERIENCE
A great night of entertainment takes place on Thursday September 29 at the Dunamaise Theatre, to raise funds for the Derryounce Lakes and Trails project. Recently discovered films from the 1920s of Portarlington, Dublin and elsewhere from the Mathews Collection will be shown. A separate exhibition in the Foyer of Ronnie and Jack Mathews vintage motoring memorabilia. Tickets are €15. Thanks to Tim Mathews and Laois Co Co.

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Pauric (Babs) Mahon, Coolagarry Walsh Island who passed away on Monday August 15. Pauric was predeceased by his father Tommy & sister Catherine. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Niamh, son Shay, beloved mother Joan, brothers Thomas, Matt & Noel, sister’s Ann, Siobhan & Mags, uncle Frank, aunt Teresa, parents in law Jim & Kathleen, extended family, neighbours & friends. Funeral Mass took place on Friday August 19 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Walsh Island. Burial after in the adjoining Cemetery. May Pauric rest in Peace.

Bernard will be sadly missed by his devoted parents Barney & Ann, sister Brigid, brother’s Paddy, John & Eddie, nieces, nephews, extended family, carers, neighbours & friends. Funeral Mass took place at St Michael’s Church on Thursday August 25, with burial after in St Michael’s Cemetery. May Bernard’s gentle soul rest in Peace.
