UKRAINE/IRISH EVENT

The first multicultural event Ukraine-Ireland took place on July 23 at St Patrick’s BNS Portarlington. It was a great mix of Ukrainian and Irish music and songs, taste of traditional Ukrainian dishes and Irish desserts. Performance of the Ukrainian anthem by Irish musicians, reading of Ukrainian poems to the accompaniment of Irish music.

A big well done to Pat Galvin Principal of St Patrick’s BNS for the opportunity to host in the school and for his support! Great support also from Brónagh Ní Mhurchú. Thanks to Laois Partnership, The Portarlington Concert Band, Sean Burbage – a four time world champion Irish dancer, John Lawlor and Jay Dunne for the great Irish music & Helen Dunne for helping with the decorating, help and support! Also to everyone who helped & took place in every way.
