Light a Light for a loved one is still running, envelopes can be found in Daniel’s Centra, Main Street. For €5 you will get your message shown on the lovely Christmas display in the Room With a Brew coffee shop window.
All proceeds go to the Portarlington Christmas Street Lights fund.


FREE PARKING

Free Parking across Laois Town’s. Parking Arrangements for Christmas Period In support of ‘’shopping local’’ in the lead-in to Christmas, no parking charges will apply to Laois County Council operated public parking areas in Portlaoise, Portarlington & Mountmellick on Saturday December 18.

SYMPATHY

It was with great sorrow that word was announced of PJ Molloy, Eneghan, Walsh Island & Church St Tullamore, who passed away suddenly on Thursday December 2. PJ was predeceased by his parents Patrick & Anne. He will be sadly missed by his loving brothers Martin & John & their partners Kelley & Jess, niece Ava, & dear friend Brian, aunts, uncles, extended family & many friends he met over the years with his enjoyment of football (especially the Faithful) & also his love of Country music . Funeral Mass took place on Tuesday December 7 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Walsh Island, with burial after in the adjoining Cemetery. May PJs gentle soul rest in Peace. The Offaly Rover.

PORT GAA NEWS
Bingo continues every Tuesday night at 8pm in the GAA Centre at McCann Park.   Patrons are asked to arrive early, face masks and covid certificate are required for entry.  Up to €3,500 in prize money to be won. Laois Clubs combined Lotto draw takes place as usual, every Thursday night. There was no winner of last week’s draw, and this week’s jackpot is €6,200. Tickets can be bought from club members or online via www.play.clubforce.com.


BUS TO CROKER

For all supporters intending to travel to the Leinster semi -final game on Saturday December 18. The club have organised buses to and from Croke Park. Return fares are €20 for adults and €10 for children. Buses will be leaving town at 1pm, and return 30 mins after the game finishes. To book your place, please contact us on Facebook Messenger or text PRO, Johnny Dunne on – 0877657019, or contact any committee member. Bus tickets can be collected on Friday night after 7pm in the GAA centre.
