Saolta Showcases Innovation, Collaboration and Transformative Learning in the Adult and Community Education Sector in Ireland

Saolta successfully hosted the Saolta Showcases Event on 10th of November in the Dunamaise Arts Centre, Portlaoise. This event brought together government officials, a thought-provoking panel discussion, and an inspiring keynote speaker, creating an enriching and impactful experience for all attendees.

The Saolta Showcases Event was emceed by RTE’s Emer O’Neill and offered a platform for meaningful conversations and insights into pressing issues for the Adult and Community Education sector today. Sean Fleming, Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs with responsibility for International Development and Diaspora joined the event, providing invaluable expertise and perspectives on the challenges and opportunities we face as practitioners. The highlight of the event was the captivating panel discussion featuring a diverse group of experts representing different fields. Engaging in thought-provoking dialogue, they explored innovative solutions, shared experiences, and shed light on emerging trends that have the potential to shape our collective future. Furthermore, the Saolta Showcases Event was honoured to host Professor Leo Casey, Director of the Centre for Education and Lifelong Learning (CELL) at the National College of Ireland as keynote speaker who captivated the audience with his inspiring address. With his vast knowledge and unique perspective, the keynote speaker motivated attendees to think critically and embrace transformative learning.

This event not only provided attendees with valuable insights and knowledge into the work of Saolta but also served to foster connections within the Adult and Community Education sector.
