Latest Laois Event: Portlaoise Career Event with Paddy Jobsman

Grow Remote Summit kicking off on June 8th

This week Portlaoise becomes the focal point for all things remote work related, with the Grow Remote Summit kicking off on June 8th. This two day conference will be the biggest conference on remote work taking place in Ireland this year, with speakers and employers from across the globe descending on Portlaoise to discuss the future of remote work and its potential to positively transform how we work and live across Ireland.

As part of the summit, there will be a free public event aimed at jobseekers and those looking for their first remote job. Grow Remote will be joined by the acclaimed career coach, Paddy Jobsman, for a session on ‘How To Find Work You Enjoy’ on Friday 9th, at 12.30 pm in Music Generation Laois. Paddy Jobsman, who has hundreds of thousands of followers on social media, is known for his humorous and no-nonsense approach to navigating today’s job market.

Graham Harron, Community Facilitator at Grow Remote, said: ‘We are delighted to be joined by Paddy Jobsman at our remote work summit. Paddy is a breath of fresh air and a great help to jobseekers across Ireland and abroad, and we’re really happy to make this workshop available to the Laois community. There are thousands of well paid remote jobs available in Ireland today and this event is not to be missed by anyone looking to kick off their remote work journey’.

There will also be an opportunity at the event to sign up for a 5 week, fully funded training course for people looking for remote work, which kicks off in Vision 85 on June 22nd. This course, run by Grow Remote in conjunction with the Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board, will provide learners with the skills and expertise they need to begin working remotely.

Tickets for the event – which is free and open to all members of the public – can be booked here. For further information on the 5 week training course, queries can be directed to Grow Remote’s Training Manager, Dr Eoin Byrne.
