Abbeyleix Bog Project An Overview


Abbeyleix Bog Project Volunteer Chris Uys will present on the latest activities of the Abbeyleix Bog Project with new imagery and updates on the rewetting of the bog and their various collaborative projects with international and domestic visitors.
A project which is over two decades in the making, the Abbeyleix Bog Project is supported by a group of volunteers who work with the community and other organisations to protect the bog in Abbeyleix through promotion and education of the importance of protecting our peatlands and associated biodiversity, scientific and academic research and knowledge sharing on how the project created a world renowned regenerative tourism site while also protecting our peatlands for the future generations.

The talk will take place in the Midlands Park Hotel on Thursday 23rd of November, at 8pm.
