Latest Laois Event: Mountrath Community School outing to Redhills
Jam-packed day full of taxing, exciting and demanding activities for MCS TY students
Subject: A day in Redhills The TY students in Mountrath Community school thrilled in the vast array of challenges and activities at Redhills Activity centre, Kildare on Monday the 24th of February. Redhills is one of Ireland’s most popular school tour destinations, with activities ranging from paintball, air soft combat games, archery, dodgeball with a difference-bows &arrows, team challenges and obstacle courses. Ms Mary Gannon, the TY coordinator said that Redhills is about team building, and overcoming challenges physically and mentally and problem solving. And it was a really well organised day for the students, and great fun for all. Student George Donnery said that the archery range was epic, a throw back to ‘Game of Thrones’, really quite skilled. Naomi Senior commented that she loved taking part in the giant puzzle, The stepping stones and the drain pipe challenge. Ruairi Iago said that everyone enjoyed the assault course, braving the cargo net, enduring the monkey bars, then to balance on the beams and finally to navigate the minefield of the laser beams. Brilliant. Ms Gannon concluded that the students really learned so much about team building and overcoming challenges. |
