Latest Laois Event: Easy Riders’ Cheque Presentation in Rathdowney
20th Easy Riders cycle sees over 500,000 Euro raised
On Friday 11th November in O’Malleys Pub in Rathdowney the Easy Riders made their cheque presentation for this years cycle.
This is the 20th Easy Riders cycle which has raised over half a million Euro, for local charities, and cycled over 4,000 km. The Easy Riders was set up by 4 locals having a pint in the local pub who decided to cycle to Achill and it all started from there.

Without the support of both business and locals in Rathdowney and surrounding areas for the past 20 years The Easy Riders would not have been as successful in raising such a large amount of money for very deserving charities.

The Easy Riders has always been a fun cycle where everyone is welcome to give it a go. There has been a lot of sweat and tears over the years but more often than not it ended up in Laughter.
This year Easy Riders raised €32,500 and was divided out as follows. The majority of the monies went to LOFFA and we also gave some smaller amounts back to the local community where the majority of the money was raised.

Rathdowney Scouts – €500
Rarthdowney Girl Guides – €500
Rathdowney Christmas Lights – €1,500
LOFFA (Laois Offaly Families for Autism) €30,000
