Young entrepreneurs from Mountrath Community School win big in Dragons Den

On The 24th of November, Dragons Den arrived to Bloom HQ in Mountrath.The transition year students of MCS had a much anticipated opportunity to pitch their innovative mini-companies to the dragons, in a bid to win, business  mentoring, investments and many other prizes on offer.
 
The first group of Dragons were Martin Meade, Telfords, Catriona Ryan of Volunteer Laois, Alan Phelan of APTN AERO and Alex Carafii , Farming Consultant.

The second group of Dragons were Catherine Phelan Mars Europe, Aisling Kirwan Sales Director of IntegriLeads and David Dunne, Software Engineer Yahoo. 

The most successful product was the signs company.

Business teacher Evelyn Geary said that it was a remarkable day for students to learn enterprise and how to promote your business. It was wonderful to hear the advice from the Dragons , whom have all enjoyed considerable success, in their careers.

Student Alex Power said that there was a great atmosphere in the waiting area. We were all hoping for the best result. Student Ruairi Iago said that the dragons were brilliant on our pitch speech to the panel of Dragons. 

Principal Ms K O’ Brien commented that it’s a a great experience for the enterprise students to receive such experienced advice for all aspects of their mini companies.The day has certainly planted the seeds for many entrepreneurs of the future . Ms O’ brien thanked Bloom HQ for inviting the students to partake in Dragons Den.
