Latest Laois Event: Community gets behind ‘Music for Roxy’ to help stricken young mother
Music for Roxy as community groups rally to help one of their own
This fundraising musical event is to help raise money for a young mother Roxy Phelan who has been going through treatment for cancer since 2017.
Roxy is the mother of two young boys, Cathal (10) and Setanta (5) and she is the loving wife of Jason. Roxy’s treatment has reached a crossroads whereby she needs to have access to a Clinical Trial in order to continue her treatment.
Clinical Trials and a diagnosis of terminal cancer has an astronomical cost so, it is hoped that this event in conjunction with other local events organised by the local community in Abbeyleix will help raise the required funds to help Roxy and her family.
The music on the night in the Manor Hotel will be provided by:
Aaron Phelan and Paddy McHugh
Brian and Fiachra
Beats Workin’
Jim and James Ring
From 8pm there will be a door prize and tickets available on the night for the many spot prizes donated by the very generous business community around the environs of Abbeyleix and beyond who are never found wanting when asked to contribute to community causes like this.

This evening event will be preceded earlier in the day by a 5k run and/or walk around Abbeyleix Bog with Fr. Paddy, and a Glamathon in the Manor Hotel where Hairdressers, Barbers, Beauticians and makeup artists and many more will provide their glamour services in exchange for donations to Roxy’s Miracle.
Also on Sun 5th December there is a Bake Sale and Craft Fair on in the outdoor dome area and indoor at Leeches Bar in Wolfhill. All donations will go also towards Roxy’s Miracle.
