Latest from Laois Down Syndrome
A great crowd at the Laois Down Syndrome Annual General Meeting last night. A new committee was elected and all former committees thanked for all their hard work for our Branch over the years.
Gordon Bradley, a lifelong advocate on behalf of people with disabilities in Laois and one of the prime instigators in getting the Kolbe Centre up and running, spoke at the end of the meeting. Gordon emphasised the great journey LDS has made over the years since he was first involved and commended and thanked the current advocates in LDS for the great strides made over the years since. As an example of the work we do, only last week in our headquarters in Gort Na nOir Abbeyleix in three different rooms, we had subsidized Physiotherapy, Reflexology and Occupational Therapy, making it affordable and available to all our members.
