Laois Youth Theatre is back!
Laois Youth Theatre is starting back in the Dunamaise Arts Centre for the Autumn with a free workshop on Saturday 12th September from 11am -1pm. All are welcome to come along and we are looking forward to welcoming back our current members as well as meeting new members. (ages 12-18)
The Youth Theatre is a quality youth arts programme that supports opportunities and experiences for learning, creativity and developing skills. The first term of 2015 was a great success and ended with a fantastic performance by the two groups in Portlaoise in June.
It a wonderful opportunity for young people to learn all about theatre, play games, get creative, see how to put on a show and how things run back stage while having fun, gaining confidence and making new friends. The weekly workshops cover all aspects of drama, including voice, movement, improvisation, physical theatre and performance skills. An end of year production is a very exciting outcome that members enjoy.
Laois Youth Theatre is affiliated to the National Association for Youth Drama, and members have the opportunity to network with Youth Theatres nationally and visit theatre shows. The Laois Youth Theatre is established for over twenty years. Many of the past Laois Youth Theatre members have gone on to study and pursue careers in Theatre nationally and internationally.

Workshop 1 is for ages 12-15years and runs from 10am-11.30am
Workshop 2 is for ages 15-18 years and runs from 12noon -1.30pm
First workshop starts on Saturday 3rd October.
Fee for the year is €100 and this can be paid in full or in two installments of €50, payable on the first day of term.
