Laois swimmer set to wow world!

All here at The Laois People would like to wish one superb Laois swimmer all the best in the IPC Swimming World Championships this month in Glasgow. Nicole Turner, S6, Laois Marlins Swim team, from Garryhinch, Portarlington, Co.Laois will be competing in all of the following events:

Women’s 50m freestyle

Women’s 50m butterfly

Women’s 100m freestyle

Women’s 100m breaststroke

Women’s 200m individual medley

Women’s 400m freestyle

Swimming is on from the 13th  until the 19th of July. Nicole’s swims are everyday except Saturday. The event is streamed live on the Internet each day. For details of coverage click here.

Glasgow 2015 is a key milestone on the road to Rio 2016 Paralympic Games qualification. Swimmers who win gold and silver in their events earn automatic qualification slots for their country.
