THIRD LAOIS DURROW SCOUTS:

All sections are getting ready for the camping season with our upcoming Beavers Annual camp to Larch Hill and in June to Scouting Ireland Headquarters. The Cubs are travelling to Gilwell Park in the UK from July 3rd to 6th and this will be a great experience for our cubs and a taste of what’s to come in Scouts. This is a first for our group to have our cub scouts travelling to the UK and is great to see them off. Plans are full steam ahead. Our Scouts will take part in Camp 3 in Killaloe as this is their choice of camp and all are looking forward to it. In the meantime all sections have county camps and plenty more activities lined up and we will keep you all up to date.
Cub Challenge: Our Cubs are off again to The National Cub Challenge on the 28th of March to represent the Slieve Bloom County. We wish them all the best of luck in the competition, we are sure you will all be great.
Appeal: Our Group is actively seeking new scouters. This is a chance for people to upskill, and if you have spare time on your hands and enjoy working with the youth, we would encourage you to contact Maureen Campion GL on (085) 8099528. Youths and Adults are promised to have lots of fun and lots of learning by doing, so please do not feel you would have the skill because all training is provided by the group. We really need people to come on board in order to continue to provide scouting in Durrow. Please give this matter some thought.
