Laois Heroes
In the annals of Laois Hurling the name of Christy O’ Brien looms like a colossus. Indeed the Borris-in-Ossory man also went on to stand out when playing for Leinster in the days when the Railway Cup really mattered. He stood taller than the finest Kilkenny and Wexford hurlers of the era. No higher praise is needed. That he turned out in every line of the field for his provincial side except the goalkeeping spot shows just how good and versatile Christy was.
