Laois Heritage Talks & Walks
‘The Laois Heritage Presents…….’ series of talks continues as part of Heritage week, at 8pm on Tuesday, August 21st in the Midlands Park Hotel with ‘Violence, Ridicule and Silence – The archives of women’s vote’ – (one hundred years since women first got the vote) by Jane Maxwell. Jane is the Principal Curator of the Library in Trinity College University.
On Thursday, Aug. 23rd, (same time & venue),‘A history and architectural analysis of Rathdair House, Ballybrittas, Co Laois’ by Mairtin Dalton, Architectural historian and lecturer in the DIT school of Architecture, Dublin
On Sunday, August 26th, Michael Parsons will bring any interested person on a tour around the interesting / historical sites of Portlaoise at 3pm, meeting at the James Fintan Lalor statue in front of the County Council Buildings.
