Laois Foróige News
Camross Loft Foróige Club and An Cuig mBothar in Clonaghadoo Foróige club have been continuing their training and development with the members preparing for their Foróige Citizenship projects they plan to roll out during the start of 2016.
Camross and Clonaghadoo Club volunteers have been rolling out this youth development programme as it empowers young people to use their talents and initiative to make a positive difference to the world around them. It involves young people researching the needs of their community, organising practical action in response, evaluating the effectiveness of their work and reflecting on what they’re learning along the way.
Portlaoise Daredevils Volunteers have been continuing to upskill with new leaders’ training for the first time in Child Protection and Awareness Programme (CPAP) as well as veteran volunteers refreshing their training as the needs of young people change from year to year as well as the updates to child protection policies across the Island of Ireland.
Continuing to train in programmes such as the citizenship and CPAP Laois Foróige Clubs are ensuring the needs of the young people of the Laois community are being catered for and that every positive life affirming opportunity are available for the coming years.
