LAOIS ENTERPRISE WEEK 2015

Local Enterprise Office will be running Laois Enterprise Week from Monday 5th October to Friday 9thOctober and the County will host a series of events and seminars aimed to support SME’s and Startups and to highlight the services available to them. A programme of FREE events offers something for everyone, regardless of whether you want to develop a business idea, start a business or grow your existing enterprise.

Lorna Sixsmith, well-known social media consultant and blogger, will give a talk on the ‘Do’s and Don’ts of Social Media’ and how to use it in the most effective way possible on Monday 5th October. On Tuesday 6th October, a seminar on ‘Mompreneurs – Getting the Balance Right’ will give support and tips on balancing the increasingly stressful work life of Mompreneurs. The ‘Lessons from a Life in Retailing’ is a must for Retailers in Laois and takes place on Tuesday evening 6th October.  Two guest speakers – William Telford, local Entrepreneur and Businessman and Rachel Doyle, Managing Director of the Arboretum will give their own personal story of the lessons they have learnt from their experience in  the Retail industry.

Some of the other highlights during the week is a seminar on Wednesday 7th October on ‘How to get the most from Online Marketing for Free’ which looks at how to generate business without spending any money on ads; a talk on how to manage your time most effectively – ‘Tick, Tock…Finding the 25th hour in your day’ and a talk on how to build your business through networking with one of the leading experts in the field, Caitlin O’ Connor, both taking place on Thursday 8th October.  The talk ‘From Laois to New York ….Building your business through Networking’ will take place in the Killeshin Hotel at 7pm.

A seminar on ‘Doing it all ….how to stay focused’ will be given by Terry Harmer on Wednesday 7thOctober at 2pm. Terry will give an informative talk about goal setting and motivation. It will give you tips on how to keep a positive mindset and how to manage your time more effectively.

Mentoring clinics will feature strongly throughout the week – on Social Media, Business Planning, Marketing and Finance. Two outreach business clinics will also take place in Portarlington and Mountmellick for anyone in business or starting up a business who wishes to hear about the supports available through the Local Enterprise Office Laois.
