Laois Ambulance Service to Get Extra Staff according to local TD

Deputy Brian Stanley states he’s been informed Laois Ambulance Service is to get additional staff

Independent Republican TD Brian Stanley is stating that Laois Ambulance Service is now to get additional staff and resources.

“Following my exchange with An Taoiseach in the Dáil last week regarding the shortcomings of the service in Laois, I have now been informed by the Director of the National Ambulance Service (NAS) Robert Morton of the increased resources.”

“He has confirmed that there is to be a 30% increase to the number of staff based in Laois and one additional Ambulance.” I have made the case consistently over the past number of years for the service to be improved. It is unacceptable that there is just one Ambulance available on Monday and Tuesday nights in the County. Also, that the number of staff has not been increased in the past two decades despite the huge increase in population of Laois.”

“The NAS are now to provide six additional Ambulance staff and one additional vehicle to be based at Portlaoise Hospital this will add to the current staff of twenty and five vehicles.
