The Portarlington Community Development Assoc (PCDA) would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to everyone who took part in this year’s Jigs & Reels. Thanks firstly to the dancers for their commitment in making the night a success. For all those who sponsored the dancers, to everyone who gave Spot Prizes for the raffle. To the Heritage Hotel Killenard, the Judges on the night Larry Fullam, Joyce Dempsey & Maeve Dunne.
To our MC for the night Matt Dunne. A big thank you to our wonderful teacher Kara Burbage who trained with the dancers for over 2 months several nights a week. Thanks to Portarlington Comhaltas for performing. To Kara & Sean Burbage & Rebecca McCormack for dancing on the night. To Sean & Claire Faherty for the sound & lights. To Tony Bambrick Jnr for doing the video of the show & John O’Reilly for the disco. A total of €3,400 was given to the dancers towards their Charity/Club. Proceeds of €500 from the raffle was donated to the Ben & Jake Connolly Fund. The PCDA supports many different community projects in Portarlington. These include-Portarlington After schools Project. Portarlington Jobs Club, Community Employment Scheme in association with FAS, Arts & Heritage Committee, Portarlington Enterprise Centre, Community Creche, Portarlington First responders.
