Is Bus Eireann lost in Laois?
Our intrepid Laois People photographer caught this scene earlier in Mountrath. At first glance there is nothing untoward about the picture. Yet another poster being placed on yet another billboard in yet another Irish town. However on closer inspection the situation jars just a little. A Bus Eireann poster is being put up in Mountrath where Bus Eireann no longer stop and serve the local community. Why? Because in their drive for the increased speed and shortened journey times of their ‘Expressway’ service Mountrath along with Castletown and Borris-In-Ossory were cut adrift.
