Hair-raising Celebration at Portlaoise Educate Together

Friday the 6th of October is the Educate Together ‘One Day Together’ annual celebration of the Educate Together community. A celebration for all involved in the Educate Together national movement. The main aim is to spend a day together having fun celebrating and nurturing camaraderie and solidarity amongst students, staff, parents and guardians, all whilst raising some much needed funds.

The staff and children really got into the spirit of the day from cupcake up-styles, bird’s nests and grizzly ghouls. It almost felt like Halloween had arrived a tad early than expected and there was more dyed hair on the Summerhill Campus than a busy day in any salon with some wig attire thrown in.

Teacher Dawn Carter organiser of the one-day event, was delighted with the outcome, she said ‘I’m thrilled with how the day has gone, the children really got into the spirit of it’ Each child was asked to bring in a €1.00 donation. The Crazy Hair Day  raised over €330 for the school.
