FLOOD ALERT
Weather Forecasts on Laois People courtesy of
Ireland’s Weather Channel

Heavy thundery downpours associated with a complex area of low pressure will become established across the country overnight and will continue on through much of the daylight hours tomorrow. Heavy thundery downpours are expected to develop during the afternoon with a risk of isolated thunderstorms across Munster, South Leinster and the South Midlands.
Rainfall totals of between 20-30 mm are possible, with the rain falling in a relatively short period of time. This will lead to a renewed risk of localised sport flooding, especially in areas which have already been subjected to significant flooding. With river levels already high across many areas of the Munster some localised flash flooding is possible once again.
I will have further updates of this risk tomorrow morning.
In the meantime if you’d like to get in touch with your weather related questions then please feel free to message the page, email me at cathalgnolan@gmail.com or WhatsApp me on 0979723300.
