Excellent conditions are forecast over the weekend with many areas enjoying prolonged spells of sunshine, warm temperatures and light winds. This is as the result of an area of high pressure which is lying across the country at the moment and will remain close enough for the weekend and into next week to ensure mainly settled and warm conditions remain in place.
Saturday and Sunday will be warm days with good sunny spells developing widely after any initial cloud breaks up on Saturday. Temperatures will reach between 20-25 degrees Celsius, warmest across the Midlands and West of the country.
Monday will remain warm and sunny for most, however there is the risk of thunderstorms later in the east of the country, mostly near the Irish Sea coasts, with a small risk of isolated flooding. More on that risk in tomorrow forecast. Highs of between 20-25 degrees Celsius. Light southerly winds.
Between Tuesday and Thursday our weather is likely to remain dry, settled and warm for most, with some good sunny spells at times. There will be the slight risk of the odd heavy shower in the afternoon mostly across the North of the country. Highs of between 20-25 degrees Celsius. Light southerly or variable winds.
Early indications suggest theirs a risk of some thundery rain pushing northwards from the Bay of Biscay next Friday and into the weekend, however details on this are uncertain.
