The Laois Heritage Society presents…….. “From Laois to Kerry” by Michael Christopher Keane (Retired Lecture UCC) on April 20th 2017 in the Heritage Centre, Abbeyleix at 8pm.
Michael recently launched his book on the transplantation of the seven septs (Clans) of Laois to Kerry during the turbulent days of colonial rule. The links between the O’Moores O’Kellys, O’Lawlors’ O Dowlings, O’Dorans, O’ Devoys and McEvoys are all explored and how they ended up in Co. Kerry under the supervision of Sir Pierce Crosbie the English imposter whose family had once been the Bards of the O’Moores of Laois.
