We’re delighted to announce the launch of Hidden Ireland Sessions, the first of many nights of informal music in The Library of Civilisation at Roundwood House. What started as a conversation with renowned Irish fiddle player, Ciaran Tourish (after a very informal late night jam in the Drawing Room), has turned into The Hidden Ireland Sessions; a series of acoustic performances featuring some of Ireland’s musical treasures.

The first session will feature Ciaran and his childhood friend Kevin Doherty. Ciaran became a member of world-renowned Irish traditional band Altan in 1990, and since then has played for every sitting American President. . . with the exception of Trump.  You should come just to shake his hand.   Ciaran has also played with a stunning list of artists such as Paul Brady, Mary Black, Dolores Keane, De Dannan, Matt Molloy, Mairtin O’Connor, Jerry Douglas, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Mick Hanly and John Prine.

Ciaran and Kevin will provide incredible music on the night

Ciaran’s partner in crime on the night, Kevin Doherty, has released a number of successful solo recordings over recent years, and as well as his own career, is a member of the well known band Four Men and a Dog.

On the night, Ciaran and Kevin will be playing Kevin’s original songs, as well as familiar covers.
