Durrow’s Strictly Come Dancing Launch
Strictly Come Dancing
Launch Night – 25th September 2015
Durrow Development and Harps GAA, two prominent community organisations in the Durrow / Cullohill area of Co. Laois, are currently embarking on a joint fundraiser which will hugely benefit both communities whilst also providing a fantastic nights entertainment for all involved.
The Strictly Come Dancing Event will take place in the Castle Arms Hotel on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th November and will see 11 couples take to the floor. Our couples have already commenced their dance tuition and will be working extremely hard over the next number of weeks on their routines.

The event was originally scheduled for Sat 14th only, but due to the event being sold out more than 2 weeks before the official launch, a second night, Friday 13th has been added. The official launch of the event will be held on Friday 25th September from 9pm in Lennon’s Venue, Durrow and will see the 11 couples showcase their moves.
It is a great honour to have two of the All Ireland Camogie Champions, Elaine Mahony & Claire Walsh dancing in the event.

Proceeds from the event will be used to part-fund two important projects within the community, namely the refurbishment of the former Methodist Church in Durrow (more commonly known locally as the ICA Hall) to bring it back into community use for local clubs, groups etc., and the part-funding of the fantastic new facilities at the Harps GAA grounds which include new changing rooms, public toilets, gym and a ball wall. Over 360 community members have access to these facilities through a variety of sports including hurling, football, rounders and handball.
