DURROW-CULLOHILL PARISH ANGLING CLUB: Durrow-Cullohill Parish Anglers are holding a Trout Fishing Competition for the Paddy Holohan Memorial Cup on Sunday, September 10th. Entries will be taken at Lawlor’s Flower shop from 9.30am with fishing from 10am to weigh in at 6pm sharp in The Durrow Inn. All members will receive full details of this competition in a text message during the week.

LAOIS KAYAK AND CANOE CLUB – Interested in Kayaking? Midweek Paddling is on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings from 7.15pm, please see Facebook for details. HARPS GAA: Congratulations to Pat Barnaville on his All Ireland Men’s Rounders win last weekend beating Limekiln 44-23! A fantastic achievement for Pat!
The Senior A hurlers play Ballyfin next Sunday afternoon, 10th of September at 2pm in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise for a place in the Championship Finals. The very best of wishes is extended to the team as they will face a tough challenge to progress.

The Junior A Hurlers meanwhile will play Rathdowney-Errill in their semi-final at Shanahoe. This game will be played on Friday, September 22nd at 7.00pm. Please come along to support!

Juveniles: Best of Luck to our U12 hurlers who face Camross this Saturday, 2nd September at 2.30pm in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise. The U12s are hoping to lift the Division 4 County Cup!
HARPS CAMOGIE: County News: Well done to the Laois U14 teams who recently took part in the Inter-county blitzes in The Ragg and in Borrisoleigh. Team 1 had four Harps representatives in Lucy O Connor, Emma Delaney, Lottie O Toole and Lauren Healy. They had a very successful day winning the competition beating Waterford, Tipperary, Cork and Kerry. Team 2 had six Harps girls: Cara Henderson, Emily Duggan, Rachel Deegan, Muire Fitzpatrick, Ruby McEvoy and Una Brophy. They won two games and lost two games.
Best wishes to the u16 Laois camogie team in their All Ireland B Final replay, playing Antrim on Saturday the 2nd September in Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan. The last match finished with a scoreline of 2-13 apiece. We are very proud to have five girls representing our club on this panel: Molly O Connor, Jade Bergin, Eimear Fitzpatrick, Roisin Phelan and Sophie McCabe. Senior Championship – The Harps 1-10 v 1-08 St. Brigids: The Harps held out for a well deserved win against old rivals St. Brigids on Sunday the 27th August. This was a badly-needed victory for the girls which leaves them third on the league table. They will now play Camross in the semi final on the 9th of September. LIONS AFC NEWS: The Lions Soccer Academy will begin on next Sunday 10th of September. Registration will take place at Noon on the AstroTurf. It is open to all boys in Junior and Senior Infants and girls in Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First class.
