PEDAL VINTAGE – Durrow Community Bike Hire Scheme: Exciting news for your, healthy, new years resolution! In April (on a start-date to be determined) we are teaming up with Ross, at Core Health and Fitness, to bring you – “Pedal for Health” an eight week leisure cycling programme, designed to improve your general health, fitness and well-being. This programme will include, two leisure cycles each week, in addition to a one-to-one, body composition assessment, introduction to wellness support and talks on a healthy eating plan by a qualified nutritionist.
Participants will avail of our brand new leisure bicycles, which will be supplied for the duration of this exciting wellness programme. All inclusive fee, for this sixteen session programme is €60. WATER SAFETY CLASS: Laois Spring Classes at Portlaoise Leisure Centre begin on the following dates:
· Saturday, 25th January from 9am until 10am for Juniors/Students (aged 12 to 15 years) costing €60.
· Tuesday, 28th January from 9pm until 10pm for Adults costing €75, and Students (aged 15+) €60.

LIONS AFC – DASH FOR THE DÁIL FUNDRAISER: Join us for the launch of our “Dash for the Dáil” fundraiser drive where six local candidates will launch their campaign (and make plenty of promises) in Peadar’s Bar, Durrow on Saturday night, February 8th. Do come along and support, great craic assured!
LION’S AFC – DASH FOR THE DÁIL: Supporting Jackie Mahony – Wine, Dine and Shop Offline! Jackie Mahony’s House on Chapel St will host a Wine, Dine and Shop Offline Night on Saturday, January 25th next at 8pm. Nibbles and treats will be provided on the night along with a Free Raffle. Get complimentary Skin & Beauty tips from Sarah at Ego Boost at the event. Afterwards there will be complimentary lifts home within the local area. Admission €10 per person plus bring your own wine.
LION’S AFC – DASH FOR THE DÁIL: Supporting Seamus Clancy – Put the night February 14th in your diary as Lennon’s Venue will host Smash Hits Live. Door charge on the night supporting the Lions AFC.

LAOIS KAYAK AND CANOE CLUB: Kayaking trips are now at weekends there are some pool sessions each month which will be advertised on our Facebook Club Members Group with booking through the Eventbrite online system. Club members interested in partaking in the Munster Polo League should sign up on Eventbrite as soon as possible so that we can confirm numbers before offering unfilled places to adjoining clubs.
St. Stephen’s Day Paddle: The Club Annual St. Stephen’s Day Paddle took place on December 26th, an enjoyable morning of paddling was had despite the weather. Thanks to all who donated prizes, to Bob’s Bar for hosting us and to Lawlors Gala for providing the hot food on the day.
AGM: – LKCC AGM will be held on Saturday 8th February at 8.00pm in the Club House, The Bridge, Durrow. All are welcome to attend.

DURROW WALKING GROUP: Are you interested in getting out to walk but worried about the darker evenings, walking alone or need a group to help encourage you. Durrow walking group will meet at 7.30pm at CastleDurrow gates from Monday 20th January and continuing each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the same time. This is a group walk at your own pace. Please wear visi vest and bring torch. Walk with a group and chat as you walk. Suitable for both men and women. €2 charge per night which will go to the fundraiser for the Redevelopment of The Lions AFC Pitch. No commitment needed. Come out and join in when you can. ODIN: Kettlebell Fitness and Sport Classes continue on Fridays in Core Fitness via ODIN Kettlebell Club. Times: 6pm for kids and 7pm for adults. Get fit, tone up, meet new friends and have an option to compete. All ages and fitness levels welcome.
