
Durrow Notes
Confirmation 2015:
Forty-five pupils from Our Lady’s Meadow Primary School, Durrow and thirty-three pupils from St. Tighearnach’s Primary School, Cullohill received their Confirmation at a ceremony held in the Holy Trinity Church, Durrow under the spiritual guidance of Bishop Seamus Freeman, Bishop of Ossory on Sunday April 19th. Each person who received the sacrament is wished well in their life ahead.
DURROW BRIDGE CLUB:
The following are the results from April 1st: First – Margorie McGeough and Kathleen Broderick; Second – Helen Woods and Marian Sherman; Third – Peggy Duggan and Jimmy Ryan. Results from April 8th: First – Marie Foley and Jack Murphy; Second – Pilar Delaney and Nancy Mahony; Third – Fr. John Lalor and Peggy Duggan.
LITTLE OAKS:
Little Oaks Parent and Toddler Playgroup meet at 10am in the Presentation Centre every Tuesday morning. All are most welcome. All enquiries to Teresa on (086) 3914725.
DERRYWOOD RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION AGM:
The Derrywood Residents Association AGM will take place on Tuesday 5th May at 8pm in The Presentation Centre, Durrow. The Committee would appreciate if all householders could attend as there are very important issues to be discussed.
SCOIL TIGHEARNACH NAOFA CULLOHILL:
Enrolments for Junior Infants starting in September 2015 are now being taken. Please call to the school office between 9:30am and 1pm to collect an enrolment form or telephone the school on (057) 8737281 for further information.
OVER THE RAINBOW MONTESSORI BALLYOUSKILL:
Summer Camp 2015: Running from the 13th – 17th of July in Ballyouskill for 2 1/2 to 10 year olds. Activities such as water games, orientation, swimming, teddy bear picnics, barbeque, indoor soccer, arts/crafts, musical games, disco, hip-hop dancing, face painting, camp games and many more! HEYWOOD COMMUNITY SCHOOL:
Heywood Community School, Ballinakill are organising a walk, run or cycle fundraiser on Sunday 3rd May. Proceeds are being split evenly between Cystic Fibrosis Ireland and provision of new flooring for the school. Support from pupils past or present, parents and the wider community would be greatly appreciated. Cycle 20km or 50km starts at 10am with registration at 9am.
Run/Walk 5km starts at 11am with registration at 10am. Adults €10, Students €5, Primary school children €3. Supervised car parking, changing rooms and showers are available. Refreshments provided. Scenic route around the school grounds for the walk and run. We hope to see you there!
