CONGRATULATIONS: to Veronica Boyhan and Paul Ryan, Seandoire, Durrow on the birth of their daughter Rosie recently.
Congratulations to Mary Ryan who was honoured for twenty years of volunteerism with Laois Riding for the Disabled recently.
Congratulations to Padraig O’Reachtagain, a native of Cullohill, on being named as “Dentist of the Year” the “compassionate treatment” he provided to the woman who was injured in an incident of domestic  violence. Padraig opened his practice on a Saturday morning to treat the lady and gave her all the help she needed to get her family into a safe environment. Padraig is son of Jim and Nora Ratigan, Cullohill and his dental practice is in Roscrea.

DURROW BRIDGE CLUB: Results from November 20th: First – Rose Talbot and Sadie Phelan; Second – Ella Walshe and Mairead Woods; Third – Phil Kingston and Paddy Purcell. Results from December 3rd: First – Nano Fitzpatrick and Teresa Phelan; Second – Ann Fitzpatrick and Dolly Harding; Third – Ann     Dooley and Bridie Mooney. Results from December 11th: First – Johnny Bowe and Tony Dooley; Second – Marie Foley and Jack Murphy; Third – Phil Kingston and Paddy Purcell. The club meets every Wednesday night at 7.45pm in the Presentation Centre, Durrow. All welcome.

ART CLASSES: Art Classes will resume again in the new year on the 8th and 9th of January (Wednesday and Thursday from 7pm to 9pm). Beginners are most welcome – all enquiries to Marie by phone on (086) 3136028.

SENIOR CITIZENS: With Christmas and the New Year near at hand please call into your neighbour to check all is well and if they need any help. With the weather getting colder please check that they have enough fuel to keep warm and enough food to keep them alive. Your kind gesture will mean a lot and put your elderly neighbours at ease. Be alert if you notice any suspicious movements of people and or       vehicle. Report anything to Gardaí immediately.
