Durrow and Abbeyleix team up as Enterprise Towns
Durrow and Abbeyleix join forces to host Enterprise Town Initiative
Business and community groups in the locality are being urged to register as soon as possible for The Durrow and Abbeyleix Enterprise Town event, which takes place on 14th & 15th October in Scoil Mhuire National School, Abbeyliex. This FREE event, which was launched just last week, is expected to be extremely popular as it is an opportunity for local businesses, clubs, societies and community groups to come together and showcase of all that is great about the local area.

The hugely successful Enterprise Town Initiative is taking place in 100 towns across Ireland this year. The objective is to work with local businesses to support them and generate business in the area. The initiative also involves the wider community and the schools to ensure everyone can get involved and be part of the positive experience that is an Enterprise Town Event.
The initiative is supported by Bank of Ireland, but is open to all organisations who would like to take part and is completely free for both exhibitors and attendees. Some businesses, clubs and charities have already signed up to exhibit during the event. Jason Ryan, branch manager in Abbeyleix, is excited about the positive response so far; “Durrow and Abbeyleix Enterprise Town is shaping up to be a fantastic event with something for everyone. Local companies will be able to network, clubs and societies can display their talents and charities raise their profile. We hope to showcase local sporting talent and musical groups too”.
The event, which is a real community effort, aims to bring all sectors together and promote everything that is positive about Durrow and Abbeyleix. Mr. Ryan says, “We would love to see everyone come out to support this event. On Friday 14th October a business networking event will take place and then on Saturday 15th October there will be a community orientated day with lots of family entertainment and kids activities.
