CULLOHILL COMMUNITY CENTRE AUCTION: This year’s auction is running next Sunday, January 21st, starting at 1.00pm. Cullohill Tidy Towns and the Community Centre are running the auction jointly which will help generate much needed funds for both groups. There will be a wide variety of goods on sale on the day and donations from households in the area will be much appreciated. If you haven’t  anything for the auction all support on the day very welcome and no doubt there will be many bargains on offer! Cards: The Progressive 25 Card Games are held in the hall every Sunday night at 8.30pm sharp followed by tea and sandwiches. Please support!

CULLOHILL ICA: The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 6th 2018 at 8pm.
DURROW BRIDGE CLUB: The Durrow Bridge Club continues for the winter season on Wednesday    evenings in the Presentation Centre at 7.45pm. All are most welcome.
ART CLASSES: Adult Art Classes with a qualified Art Teacher starts on Wednesday 17th January 2018 OR Thursday 18th January 2018 from 7pm until 9pm for five Weeks at Durrow Library. Cost: €50 in    advance for the five sessions or €12 Euros per session (for drop in – drop out option). All art materials are provided. All levels are accommodated including absolute beginners. ZUMBA CLASSES: Zumba Classes will commence in Durrow Community Centre on Friday 26th January from 8.00pm to 9.00pm. More details will be advertised in a later issue.

PILATES: The new Pilates classes start in Cullohill Community Centre on January 30th and continue on Tuesdays from 1.30pm to 2.30pm until March 13th – please note change of time from previous years.

DURROW LIBRARY NEWS: Irish Group: Durrow’s Irish group under the mentorship of Liam O’Neill, is continuing to meet on Monday nights at 8pm at Durrow Library. All ages and levels of ability are welcome! This friendly group aims to practice the Irish language and brush up on their skills in a warm and encouraging environment.
Lego Club! Lego club will be taking a break while the library gets ready to start the Laois Libraries Lego Studio. This project is aimed at young people between the ages of 10-14. If you are interested in film making, lego, drama, creative writing or art please drop your name into the library as soon as possible. Places will be limited!

Healthy Ireland Initiative: Healthy Ireland is a new libraries initiative alongside the HSE. This aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people through online resources and reading material. As part of this initiative some events will take place at the library in the next few months. If anyone is interested in finding out more, please call in.
Genealogy Course: We’re once again looking for names of people interested in a short Genealogy course. If anyone is interested please get in touch – see below for details.
Membership: Library membership is free and your library card now allows you access to all libraries in Ireland. Access to free ebooks, audiobooks, online magazines and online learning courses are also part of your membership. Call in if you want to find out more about Borrowbox or Universal Classes.
