ABBEYLEIX GOLF CLUB – ANTIQUES ROADSHOW:
Abbeyleix Golf Club will host an Antiques Roadshow on Sunday, November 12th from 2pm until 5pm. Specialists will be in attendance from the  record making Sheppard’s Irish Auction House, Durrow with all proceeds to Abbeyleix Golf Club fund (1 x item: €5; 3 x items: €10). OUR LADY’S MEADOW PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWS:
Cycling: This year once again, The Parent’s  Council will subsidise the Cycling Skills training for fifth class students. This will commence on Tuesday, the 7th of November and run for four weeks!
Parent’s Council: The Parents Council are on the lookout for new Members and always welcome a  helping hand. The time commitment is limited with a meeting perhaps once every two months. If you would like to get involved or know more please contact Helen in the School Office. All Help and Assistance would be Greatly Appreciated.

LAOIS FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICE –
Clothing Recycling Drive: Laois Family Support Service is a Respite Service for people with disability and as part of our ongoing fundraising we ask people to please donate all clean unwanted clothes, bed linen, towels, curtains, shoes, bags, belts and soft toys, etc… All wearable clothes will be re-used, other items will be recycled. No household bric-a-brac please. Please drop off to Rose Woods, Barnhill. All proceeds will be used to buy equipment to enhance the lives of     clients using this service. Many thanks for your support.
THIRD LAOIS DURROW SCOUTS:
The 3rd Laois Durrow scout Group has starting back up the new    season with a great number of youth and a few adults joining in. If you are interested in the outdoors and like to show skills to others, why don’t you join us? Contact Delphine Lawlor on (086) 3655178 for further details.

CHRISTMAS FEAST COOKERY DEMONSTRATION by Rory O’Connell sponsored by Bord Bia – Wednesday  15th November: Following on from the hugely successful ‘Stop Food Waste’ Cookery Demonstration last year, Cullohill Community Council are delighted to welcome back Rory O’Connell to Cullohill Community Centre on Wednesday 15th November. On this occasion Rory will be demonstrating the very best of Christmas Fayre which is sure to make everyone’s Christmas dinner that extra bit special. Recipes booklets for all dishes cooked on the night will be available free of charge to all attendees. Tickets for the event are priced at €20 each and are available from Community Council   members or by calling (086) 8390266.

RURAL BROADBAND FOR CULLOHILL:
Some members of Cullohill Community Council met with senior representatives from Eir Broadband recently. They are pleased to confirm that Eir high speed broadband will be available in Cullohill in the final quarter of 2018. Works will begin in October and should be       finished by the end of the year.
