Scout activities have resumed after the Christmas break and now that the days are getting longer all sections are starting to plan for the camps and hikes during Spring and Summer! DURROW TOWN PLAN 2018-2021: Durrow Development Forum invite all householders, businesses, clubs and organisations to be involved in the Durrow Town Plan. There will be a community consultation workshop which will be approximately one and a half hours on Thursday, 25th January at 7pm in the Castle Arms Hotel and all are welcome to attend.
DURROW MEALS ON WHEELS SERVICE: The committee of Meals on Wheels wish to thank all those involved in the cooking and delivering of over 20 meals daily, five days weekly. This include the kitchen staff and van drivers, who are employed on the CE Scheme in Durrow, and to the volunteers who deliver in the local area on a regular basis.
New volunteers are always welcome, it can be for one day at a time or more. If you would like to help with this worthy service you can do so by contacting Marie Clooney on (087) 7742506 or Mary Walsh at (086) 3055157.
LAOIS PPN PUBLIC MEETING: Laois Public Participation Network warmly invites you to attend a public meeting and discussion about the following Laois County Council Social and Cultural Strategies. The Creative Ireland Laois Plan 2018-2022, The Arts Strategy 2018-2022, The Recreation, Play and Sports Strategy 2018-2022, The Library Development Strategy 2018-2022 in The Killeshin Hotel, Dublin Road, Portlaoise on Wednesday 17th January, 2018 at 7.00pm. Please arrive at 6.45pm for registration, meeting will commence at 7.00pm. Refreshments will also be served. All are most welcome.

CULLOHILL COMMUNITY CENTRE AUCTION: This year’s auction is running next Sunday, January 21st, starting at 1.00pm. Cullohill Tidy Towns and the Community Centre are running the auction jointly which will help generate much needed funds for both groups. There will be a wide variety of goods on sale on the day and donations from households in the area will be much appreciated. If you haven’t anything for the auction all support on the day very welcome and no doubt there will be many bargains on offer!
