THIRD LAOIS DURROW SCOUTS: Venture and Rovers: Our Ventures section will shortly resume their meetings on a fortnightly basis. We will meet on a Friday night from 8pm and subscriptions must be paid for at each meeting. This year we hope to plan and take part in more activities. Well done to our Venture Scout Oisin Tynan on been selected to staff Phoenix.  Venture is for youths aged 15 up to 17 and if anyone is looking to join please contact Maureen Campion. All are looking forward to a year of fun, games and learning.
Third Laois Durrow Scouts will resume its activities on the second week of September. We are looking forward to a year full of adventure and fun. New members considering joining the group should enquire to Delphine Lawlor on (086) 3655178. Adult members are also welcome to join our team of Scouters.

GIVE BLOOD: The Blood Transfusion Mobile Unit will visit Durrow on Thursday September 21st. Please put this date in your file and reserve one hour to donate blood on the day because your donation will save lives.
CULLOHILL COMMUNITY COUNCIL: The AGM for the Cullohill Community Council will take place on Wednesday the 6th of September at 9pm in Cullohill Community Centre. All are most welcome to attend as the Community Council is an umbrella organisation to assist the local groups and clubs access funding and also provide supports. Representation from local groups would be very much appreciated.
TRIP ADVISOR AWARD FOR BOWE’S CAFÉ: Congratulations to Bowe’s Restraunt, The Square, Durrow on being awarded a Certificate of Excellence for 2017 by Trip Advisor. Well done to all concerned on this fantastic achievement.
LSCPA RESCUE – URGENT APPEAL: We desperately need Dog Fosterers, we are full beyond our limit and cannot take in anymore dogs, unless we get more fosterers. We supply everything and cover all veterinary costs. If you can help, contact our Dog coordinator on (086)4169559.

LEGION OF MARY: The Annual Legion of Mary pilgrimage to Knock takes place on Sunday 24th of September. The bus leaves the Church carpark at 8.30.am approx. LAOIS BUSINESS NETWORKING EVENING: We would like to invite you to an exciting   Business Networking Evening to be held in Portlaoise on 12th September. Join Irish rugby    legend Mick Galwey and a host of local businesses in an informal business networking setting. Refreshments will be served on the night. SPINK COMHALTAS: A registration night will be held on Friday, 15th September at 8pm with an assessment class for brand new members on Friday, September 22nd, then all members will return back on Friday 29th September. We look forward to everyone getting back for the start of the next season, and if you know anyone who is new to learning music and would like to consider Spink as a great place to learn, perhaps you can refer them to us!
