Digiweb launch new Metro Fibre Powered Broadband in County Laois

Irish-owned and managed company Digiweb have recently launched a new Metro Fibre Powered Broadband service in County Laois.

Metro broadband provides speeds of up-to 30 Mb whilst offering unlimited data, all without the need for a telephone line. Using licensed radio Digiweb’s Metro system simply requires a small radio to be placed on the outside of the customer’s premises by a qualified Digiweb technician who also ensures a professional internal Wifi set-up.

Digiweb’s Customer Operations Manager, Brendan McGahon explained how the service operates “We are really excited to be expanding our Fibre powered Metro broadband service to further locations in County Laois. In the past in order to obtain a decent level of broadband service customers needed to be located quite close to a telephone exchange. Digiweb Metro changes this, we can now provide speeds of up-to 30 Mb without the need for a telephone line at distances of up-to 12 km from our broadcasting points. At present we are broadcasting from sites in Portlaoise, Stradbally & Durrow with further sites to be added soon.
