Clonaslee Cyclists Gear Up for BUMBLEance Fundraiser, Children’s Ambulance Service

Clonaslee High Nelly Club take on challenging 138-km cycle from Croke Park to Shannon Harbour Offaly

On Saturday, April 11th, the Clonaslee High Nelly Club will take on a challenging 138km cycle from Croke Park, Dublin, to Shannon Harbour, Co. Offaly, in aid of BUMBLEance Children’s Ambulance Service.

BUMBLEance is Ireland’s only dedicated Children’s Ambulance Service. The charity makes a difference by empowering the thousands of families unable to access their child’s healthcare through providing nationwide journeys in a safe, caring, and fun environment, offered completely free of charge.

Cyclists are departing Croke Park, with a Garda and BUMBLEance escort, at 6:00am. They will be stopping in Tullamore for a brief break to refuel and say hi to supporters around 1pm. The group is then expected to arrive in Shannon Harbour between 7:30-8:30 pm, where supporters can gather to celebrate the volunteers’ achievement and tour a BUMBLEance vehicle.

BUMBLEance, Campaigns and Community Manager, Laura Finnerty, said, “Community fundraising has become more vital than ever for BUMBLEance in light of rapidly increasing fuel costs. The High Nelly Cycle is a fantastic fundraiser, that challenges participants while raising essential funds in an active, environmentally friendly way.”

In 2025, BUMBLEance travelled over 400,000km across 2,122 trips. However, demand continues to rise, with 442 trips going unfulfilled last year – an increase of 27% from 2024. In 2026, the charity is working to reduce the number of unfulfilled trips, expand their services, and support more families than ever before across the whole country.
