
Bagatelle bow out in Portlaoise
Legendary Irish Rock Band Bagatelle will perform their very last concert ever at the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel on St. Valentine’s Night Sunday 14th February as they bid their Final Farewell. With multi-platinum album sales, 6 no. 1 hit songs and worldwide tours spanning their 37-year history this will prove to be the farewell concert of the year.
The original band members, including singer/songwriter Liam Reilly whose song “Summer in Dublin” will be treasured forever in the hearts of all Irish people, are excited about performing in Portlaoise and having this opportunity to bid a final farewell to their many friends and fans as they play their last ever concert. Liam was quoted as saying “It’s hard to believe that it’s all coming to an end. We had an amazing 37 years performing together……what a musical journey. I’m sure it will be a really special night and one that I’m sure we will all treasure”. Formed in Bray, Co. Wicklow, the band first started to get noticed around the 1970’s. Fellow Irish musician Bono has commented on the impact that Bagatelle had on U2 in the early days of their career.
