Ballyfin Athlete helps secure gold

It was a massive day for Laois Athletics all round with Stephen Lawlor from St Abbans winning the Individual All Ireland Novice Cross Country in Dungarvan. Laois also took Gold in the team event with Lawlor leading the way and Ballyfin’s Colin Maher in 10th place with Brian Kelly, Cormac Kelly, Stephen Hunter and James Moore. What a day, congratulations to all.

Mountrath Snooker Club

Mountrath Snooker Club would like to inform you of the following details:

The Tommy Watkins Perpetual Cup 2016, open snooker tournament, will have 500 euro in prize money including prizes for the winner and runner up, also prizes for the highest break. Entry fee for each player is 25 euro.

Tournament confined to Laois snooker clubs (4 players max from each Laois club). All entry fees and names to be with club secretary Ger Osborne by the 31st of December 2015.

The Tournament will start early January 2016.

It’s time to whip those Christmas jumpers out for our club’s Christmas drinks Party next Wednesday night the 23rd of December in Bergins The Camross Inn starting around 9pm. *..Bergins will provide food on the night so hope to see ye all there !!

We’re also starting our Beginners Jiving Lessons on the 12th of January in the Hall in Camross. The  cost each night will be €10 and all Macra and Non-Macra members welcomed!!

Next Meeting will be the 8th of January so chalk it down.
