Bingo will continue in Portarlington GAA Centre every Tuesday night at 8.30pm. Over €2,000 in prize money.

 

SOCIAL SERVICES BINGO

Weekly Bingo returned on Wednesday September 6 & every Wednesday night in Portarlington Social Services Centre at 8.30pm. Come along for a few games of bingo & a cuppa after. Looking forward to seeing you all.

 

REMEMBRANCE RUN/WALK

The Portarlington Community Centre committee would like to thank everyone who came out on Sunday September 10 for their 3rd annual “Run to Remember” event. A massive €1,175 was raised & this will be split evenly between Portarlington Community Centre Renovation Fund & our local Laois/Offaly Specialist Palliative Care Team.
This event could not possibly be run without the huge support  received from local businesses,  volunteers & the walk/run attendees. Well Done everyone, another great annual Run to Remember….looking forward to 2018 already!

WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE

Do you need to lose weight & feel healthier in yourself? Then, join us in the Portarlington GAA Centre starting on Monday September 18 from 9.45am to 10.45am and evenings from 7.30pm to 8.30pm and every Monday after. LAOIS AGE FRIENDLY INFORMATION AFTERNOON

Laois Public Participation Network in association with Laois County Council and Laois Older People’s Forum are hosting Laois Age Friendly Information Afternoon on Tuesday September 26 at 3pm in the Killeshin Hotel, Portlaoise. There will be exhibitors providing information about the Fair Deal Scheme, nursing homes, legal advice, financial services, personal security, fire prevention, health/fitness and wellbeing and many more.

At 6pm on the same evening the Launch of the Age Friendly Business Recognition Scheme will take place where 50 businesses from across County Laois will be presented with an Age Friendly Charter and relevant publicity material. The afternoon is open to all and refreshments will be provided.

 

FAMILY WALK

Gathering of the community at St. Paul’s Church, Emo on Sunday September 24 at 3pm. Come & walk with us to the crucifix in the grounds of Mount St. Anne’s. Theme is “Family”. We invite you to bring a cross or stone, plain or decorated to symbolize who or what you are bringing with you in your prayer on this Pilgrim walk. If you don’t wish to walk come & pray in the Chapel at Mount St. Anne’s, Killenard. All welcome.

 

ST VINCENT DE PAUL (DANCING)

Dancing continues every Monday night in The Gandon Inn, from 9.30pm to 11.30pm in aid of Portarlington St V de Paul.  September 25-The Ranchers. Come along for a great night out.  Admission €7.  All welcome.

 

PARENTS FIRST (LAOIS)

Have you time to offer friendly support to young parents for one hour each week?

Portarlington Happy Hearts Club returned on Thursday September 7 after the Summer Holidays & will continue every Thursday in the Community Centre 2pm to 4pm. New & existing members welcome. Plenty of activities to suit both men & women.
