Clonaslee Community Centre bingo on Sunday June 11 starting at 3.00pm with doors opening at 2.15pm. Over €1,800 in prize money to be won. Lots of parking.

CAMOGIE SUCCESS

Big congratulations to the Presentation Primary School camogie team who won the Cumann na mBunscol final on Thursday May 25 in O’Moore Park Portlaoise against Killenard. Well done to all the teachers and Mr Ruane for all their support & guidance.
Also well done to the Killenard team who were very worthy opponents.

 

St Vincent de Paul (Dancing)

Dancing continues every Monday night in The Gandon Inn, from 9.30pm to 11.30pm in aid of Portarlington St V de Paul. June 5-Caitriona. June 12- TBC. June 19-Peter Burke. Come along for a great night out.  Admission €7.  All welcome.

CREDIT UNION

Portarlington Credit Union would like to announce a change in opening hours. From June 6 there will be one change to our opening hours. We will open from 10 am every Tuesday. All other days will remain unchanged.

 

HACKING CLUB FOR PORT

Any of you out there interested in Horses? A meeting for anyone interested in forming a Hacking Club in town will be held in the Anvil Inn on Wednesday May 31 at 7.30pm. All welcome.

This project is 100% volunteer lead & set up on a “not-for-profit basis”. We are trying to bring a sense of community back to the town of Mountrath.

WHY:        “Launch Date Saturday June 3” – Large variety of Marketeers bringing homegrown,                     homemade & handcrafted goods to Market.                Market will take place on the first Saturday of the month. Opening times- 10am-2pm.

PORTERHOUSE PLAYERS

The Portarlington Porterhouse Players Drama group are pleased to announce their presentation of “It Happened at the Hotel Hollywood”, A Comedy in three acts at the Mountmellick Arts Centre on Friday and Saturday June 9 & 10 at 8pm each evening. Tea/Coffee stall available. Crafts Stall and raffle on the night. Admission €10.

PORTARLINGTON LIBRARY EVENTS

The knitting group meets every Friday morning at 10:30 am. New members of all abilities always welcome.

Colouring for Calmness- Colouring session for adults, meets every Tuesday at 10am. Pictures provided just bring your own pencils/pens.

Classics Book Club- The next meeting of the Classics Book Club takes place this Wednesday May 31 at 11am. They will be discussing ‘At Swim-TwoBirds’ by Flann O’Brien. Copies available at the library and new members are always welcome.

Bealtaine Library Events Yoga Talk- An introduction to yoga.

Drawing Class- Artist Frida Nel will bring us back to basics with paper and pencils. Learn techniques to allow yourself to draw anything from landscapes to portraits to animals. These are free events but booking is essential. Phone 057- 8643751 to secure your place.

FAI Summer Camp for Boys & Girls takes place on July 24 to July 28. 5 days coaching. Ages 6-14yrs. Cost €65 (sibling discount apply). Each participant will get a full Soccer kit. To book please phone 1890-653-653.
