WINNERS OF POKER CLASSIC
Congratulations to the winners of the 2017 Portarlington GAA Good Friday Poker Classic.
Congratulations to the winner Stephen Dillon who was presented with a Crystal Trophy and a €600 cheque from event organiser Joe Whelan and Club Chairman Canice McCarthy.
The runners up-2nd place Noleen Moore €300. Joint 3rd– Ena Deegan and Chris Doyle €100 each. 5th– Liz Fenton €50. 6th– John Doody €50. 7th– Andy Carroll €50

The Club wish to thank all those who took part in the event and made it a great success with the best turnout we’ve had in many a year. Thanks to the ladies on their Social committee for the excellent food. Special thanks to Joe Whelan who organised the event and who along with John Doody collected all the great spot prizes for our interval raffle.

Deepest Sympathy to the Blanc family St Michael’s Park on the death of Thomas Flaherty on Wednesday April 12. Thomas will be sadly missed by his devoted family Shirley & Edward Blanc who took care of Tom so well & sympathy to the extended Blanc & Broughan family. Funeral service took place on Good Friday April 14 in St Michael’s Church, with burial after in St Michael’s Cemetery. May Tom’s gentle Soul rest in peace.

Deepest Sympathy to the McNally/Whelan family on the death of Brendan McNally Spa St & formerly Carrickmore Co. Tyrone who passed away on Good Friday April 14 at his home. Predeceased by his loving daughter Brenda (Grant) just 2 years ago. Brendan will be sadly missed by his loving & devoted wife Kathleen, his daughters Karen (Sherlock), Lynne (Moran) & Anne, his devoted brother Johnny, sister Bridget, his 10 granddaughters, 1 grandson, his extended family, neighbours & friends. Brendan has lived in Portarlington for over 43 years, where he became known as a gentle, hardworking & caring man. Brendan was known for his hard work & generosity in helping neighbours & friends. Requiem Mass took place on Monday April 17 in St Michael’s Church, with burial after in St Michael’s Cemetery. May Brendan’s gentle Soul rest in Peace.
