Have you registered your business, sports club or community group for the Bank of Ireland Enterprise town day? This event takes place on Saturday April 22 in the Portarlington Community Centre from 11am-3pm.
Businesses, Sports Clubs and Community Groups in Portarlington are being encouraged to get involved in the upcoming ‘Enterprise Town Event’.
Portarlington is the latest local town to be selected for the prestigious Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town 2017. SCOUTS AGM
The 4th Laois Scouts Portarlington AGM takes place on this Wednesday March 22 at 7.30pm in the Scouts Den Main St. All welcome.

St Vincent de Paul (Dancing)
Dancing continues every Monday night in The Gandon Inn, from 9.30pm to 11.30pm in aid of Portarlington St V de Paul. March 27-Peter Burke. Come along for a great night out. Admission €7. All welcome.

Port Trail Walking Group
Come along and join us on our weekly walks. Monday night is for beginners and the walk takes about 30-35mins. This walk can be done at your own pace. Meeting up at Park Lane car park near the Medicentre at 7.30pm.

GRACEFIELD F.C.
Clothing Collection Day will take place on this Saturday March 25 at our grounds on Botley Lane from 12 noon to 4pm. Anyone who cannot drop off clothes on the day can bring them down to the Community Centre Monday – Friday. Race Night will take place in the Dublin Bar on March 25 from 9pm until late. Horses available from any club member. €15 per horse.

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Leo Dempsey Shandra who passed away on Monday March 13 at Oakdale Nursing Home. Leo was predeceased by his loving sister Phyllis. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Geraldine, sons Hubert & Leo, brother Paddy, sisters Patricia, Harriette & Teresa, grandchildren, extended family & friends.

Rest in Peace
Leo will be remembered for his involvement with the Portarlington Swimming Pool Association for over 40 years where he worked on a voluntary basis to keep the old pool running from the time it opened in 1974 to the new refurbishment in 2007. He was a former employee of Odlums Mill. Requiem Mass took place in St Michael’s Church on Wednesday March 15, with burial after in St Michael’s Cemetery. May Leo rest in Peace.
