Portarlington Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town 2017
Bank of Ireland are delighted to announce that Portarlington will host the Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town for 2017.
Through this initiative, B.O.I & the business community of Portarlington will work together to support local enterprise. In addition they will involve the wider Community & the local schools through a range of different activities.
To learn more about these exciting plans for our Enterprise Town, you are invited to the launch on Wednesday March 1st @ 7pm in the Bank of Ireland, Main St Portarlington.

7K Derryounce Fundraising Walk
Walk takes place on Saturday February 25 at 2.30pm. Registration from Derryounce walkway on Bog road @ 2pm. All funds raised will go to the P.C.D.A. ongoing projects.
CAR BOOT SALE
An indoor Car boot sale takes place on Sunday March 12 from 11am to 2pm in Portarlington Community Centre. Only €10 per stall. Free entry to the public. To book or for more information contact the Centre at 057-8645728.
EASTER SOCCER CAMP
Two Day Soccer Easter Camp for Girls aged 7-12 years will take place on April 12 & 13 at Arlington AFC, Lea Road. Full kit and ball for every participant. Places are limited. To book see Arlington AFC juveniles Facebook page or contact 1890-653-653.
PORT TRAIL BEGINNERS WALKING GROUP
This is on open group and you can join in at anytime. There is a new walk suitable for beginners which takes about 30 minutes. MOUNTMELLICK DRAMA FESTIVAL

MEMORIAL ROAD RUN
The 7th Tommy Ryan Memorial road run in aid of Laois Riding for the Disabled takes place on April 23 at new venue at Creans of Vicarstown. Come along & support & enjoy the event in this beautiful picturesque village.

LIBRARY ACTIVITIES
Family Puppet Show-To celebrate the 1st anniversary of the opening of the new Library, we will be hosting a Family Friendly Puppet Show on Friday February 24 at 3pm. This is a free event and all are welcome to come along and help us celebrate.
Classics Book Club-The next meeting of the classics book club takes place on Wednesday March 1 at 11pm. We will be discussing “The Old Man and the Sea” by Ernest Hemmingway. New members always welcome
Junior Book Clubs-We now have a few places available in our Junior book clubs. We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. The club is open to those aged 8-10. To reserve a place please call 057 8643751

Knitting Group-Our knitting group continues to meet every Friday morning from 10:30am. Come along for a chat and a cuppa. New Members always welcome.

Portarlington GAA registration for all players and members is now open for the 2017 season.
TRAINING-U6 football training has started again for 2017 and is on Sunday Mornings at 10am in the hall.
Hurling training for all ages is at 11am every Sunday in the hall.
The Laois GAA All County Draw is now started and we would ask you to support the Club by buying a ticket yourself or split the cost between a family / friends .This is a major fundraiser for both CLG Laois and for Portarlington GAA .Tickets sold are entered into the 4 draws with 25 prizes each which have jackpots ranging from €10,000 down to €250. Tickets can be obtained from our Treasurer Madeline Ward at 085- 1018048 or in the GAA Centre every Wednesday night or from any committee member.
Portarlington GAA Annual Good Friday Poker Classic will take place on April 14 at 8.30 pm in the GAA Centre. Refreshments served. Early Bird €20 or €25 on the night. Tickets from Joe Whelan @ 087- 2529977 or Cam McGettrick @ 087- 7799520.
