The 46th AGM will take place on next Friday January 27 at 7.30pm in the Social Services Centre, Link Rd. All are welcome to attend.

Our weekly Bingo will return on Wednesday February 1 at 8.30pm.

 

Junior Band For Portarlington

The First night of Portarlington Concert Band is happening on Monday February 6 at 7pm in the Portarlington GAA Centre. Come along, all welcome.

Boys & girls age 9 years & older are invited to join. Instruments provided, which include Flutes, Clarinets, Trumpets, Trombones, Saxophones, Drums & Percussion & low Brass. Parents can contact Pat Donegan @ 083-8570428 for more details. He will be only too delighted to give you all the details. Also if you would like to give some of your time to help it would be greatly appreciated.

St Vincent de Paul (Dancing)

Dancing continues every Monday night in The Gandon Inn, from 9.30pm to 11.30pm in aid of Portarlington St V de Paul. January 30-John & Terry.   Come along for a great night out.  Admission €7.  All welcome.

FRIENDS TOGETHER PORTARLINGTON

Our meetings continue as usual in 2017 on Tuesday & Friday in the Scouts Den on Main Street from 2.30-5pm. Parents & children welcome. Come in for a cuppa, a chat & some games if you like. Volunteer drivers needed to transport people. Phone: 087-2788472.

IRISH GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND

Many thanks to all who contributed to the recent Church Gate Collection. Amount raised was €840. Sincere thanks to all the collectors.

TABLE QUIZ

The St Patrick’s Day committee are holding a Table Quiz on Friday February 3 at 9pm in the Anvil Inn. Table of 4 only €20. Plenty of fun guaranteed. Raffle on the night. Tables are limited, so please book early from the Anvil Inn or contact Noel Bodie at 086-8157487. This year’s parade will be spectacular.

O’DEMPSEY’S ANNUAL DINNER DANCE

Our annual Dinner Dance & medal presentation to our victorious Intermediate and U21 teams will takes place on Friday  February 3 at 8pm in The Heritage Hotel Killenard. Entertainment will be provided on the night by Damian Carroll and The Electrix. Tickets are €35 or €20 for students. SYMPATHY

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Kevin McNellis formerly of Market Sq who passed away in Australia. Kevin has spent the last 29 years in Australia. He was predeceased by his father Paddy & only sister Ann. Kevin will be deeply missed by his loving wife Anne Marie, sons Ian, Christopher, & Declan, daughters Eimear & Kerry, his loving mother Marie (Pine Villa), brothers Colm, Brian & Ger, extended family & friends. Funeral took place in Australia. May Kevin rest in Peace.

U6 football training has started again for 2017 and is on Sunday Mornings at 10am in the hall. Hurling training at 11am every Sunday in the hall for all ages.
