Fundraising night in aid of the Senior Citizen Christmas party, on Sunday December 4 in the Pint O’ Port. Music by J.L Sound. €3 admission. Raffle on the night.

The “Keep your Head up” fundraising event was an idea that came about when Kevin McNair, Damian Carroll & Noel Whelehan decided to try and raise some much needed funds for local charities . A parachute jump, a 10km Club vs Club relay race, followed by a night of music and entertainment were all part of the fundraising effort which resulted in over €12,000 being raised.

The charities who benefited from the event were Portarlington Meals on Wheels, Portarlington Mens Shed, The Cuisle Centre Portlaoise, The Irish Cancer Society and Colàiste Íosagáin’s school wellness programme.
