Annual Laois Walks Festival
The annual Laois walks festival took place on Sunday July 10 on the Derryounce Lakes & Trails.
Huge work has taken place on the Derryounce & the PCDA would like to thank Laois Partnership & all the TUS employees for their hard work & support on this wonderful project.
These works will be ongoing for the foreseeable future with the support of Laois partnership.
The PCDA/ Love Port will keep you updated on this project. Please check out the Love Port facebook page for more updates.
The Committee of Portarlington Social Services/Meals on Wheels would like to thank everyone who gave so generously to their recent flag days. Thanks to all who helped with collecting & thanks as usual to Centra Main St & Supervalu for allowing us to collect on their premises.
In the year 2015, we delivered 5,403 meals. It cost €50,000 to run the Centre for the year 2015.
This service could not continue without the valued support of both the Community Employment workers and our volunteers. Also to the HSE for funding we receive towards the running of our Centre.
– We are always so grateful to the public for their ongoing generosity to us. We also continue to receive donations from individuals and groups. Without all the generosity from the public we would not be here 44 years on from that 1st meeting in 1972.
