Sympathy
It was with great sadness that the town of Portarlington heard of the sudden death on Sunday February 7 of Fr. P J Byrne, Parish Priest of Kilcock & Newtown Parish, Co. Kildare & formerly of Tinryland, Co. Carlow. Fr Byrne spent some years here in the 90’s before moving to Kilcock in 1999. He was liked by all who knew him. He was always devoted & caring to his parishioners. Fr Byrne will be sadly missed by his brothers Peader, Liam & Martin & sister Mary (Townsend), his extended family, his Parishioners & his large circle of friends. He will be missed by Kilcock GAA Club where he was President of the Club. He had a great interest in sport. Concelebrated Funeral Mass took place on Friday February 12 in St. Coca’s Church with Burial afterwards in Tinryland Cemetery Co. Carlow.
